Mexico is a live shared-mobility market — Uber, Didi, Cabify and their local competitors operate at scale in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, and Querétaro, and the micromobility layer has real operations across the same cities. Last-mile delivery is scaling rapidly through Rappi, iFood, and the platform-adjacent delivery layer of the ride-hailing operators. Is shared mobility a serious executive-search market or a fading trend?
It stabilized. The 2018–2021 pilot cycle burned off the operators who could not build unit economics; what survived is a smaller, more disciplined layer running real routes at real margins — Bird after reorganization, Lime, Voi, Tier Mobility (now Dott after the 2024 merger), Neuron Mobility, Beam, Superpedestrian in select markets, Cabify and Didi in Latin America, Uber and Lyft in North America, Grab and Gojek across Southeast Asia. The leadership market has shifted from growth-at-any-cost profiles to operators who can hold a P&L, negotiate a city permit, and run a depot; that is exactly the shift Silvia's retained-search model reads well.

How does last-mile delivery fit into this sub-practice?
Sidewalk-delivery robots (Serve Robotics, Starship Technologies, Cartken, Coco), cargo-bike delivery networks, autonomous delivery vans (Nuro, Gatik on urban runs), and drone-delivery operators (Zipline, Wing, Manna, Matternet on the aerial side) all draw from the same shared-services leadership pool as the passenger-mobility operators. The operating model is the same: dense-network operations, high-frequency depot cycling, safety-critical decisioning at scale.
How is this different from the automotive-and-SDV sub-practice?
Automotive and SDV searches leadership that builds the vehicle. This sub-practice searches leadership that operates the fleet — the same vehicles, plus scooters, e-bikes, e-mopeds, and delivery robots, deployed as a service. The candidate pool overlaps at the top (former OEM operators moving into shared-mobility C-suites) but the operating discipline is closer to logistics and consumer services than to manufacturing.
